William Ernest Bedsole Jr., age 88, of Helena, passed away Tuesday, June 18.

He was born July 4, 1930 in Montgomery to the late William and Nannie Bedsole.

After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Bedsole enjoyed a long career in sales. He was a member of Civitan International in Montgomery and First Baptist Church of Alabaster.

He loved to hunt, fish, and garden, and one of his other favorite pastimes was making beautiful floral arrangements. He sang in church choirs throughout his adult life.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bedsole was preceded in death by a son, Robert David Bedsole.

Survivors include Mr. Bedsole’s wife of 63 years, Betty Louise Igleheart Bedsole; one daughter, Rebecca Bedsole; one son, William Steven Bedsole (Janet); and two grandchildren, Robert Bedsole and Laura Midkiff (Travis).

A private gravesite committal service and interment were at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.
