Florence Vanderslice, age 70, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, June 4.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, June 7 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Gibson, Rev. Ben Dailey, and Rev. Sam Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Vanderslice is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Rosie McDonald; father, Leo Higgins; mother, Frances (McDonald) Higgins; and nephew, Shannon Higgins.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Vanderslice; son, Terry Vanderslice; brothers, Richard Higgins (Alma), Charles Higgins (Lisa), and Larry Higgins (Cindy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
