Mrs. Dorothy Sue Murphy, age 78, formally of Shelby, died Thursday, March 7, in Bluffton, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Murphy was born Jan. 20, 1941, in Macon, Georgia to the late Christopher Gibson and Laverne Gibson.

She worked for the Shelby County Department of Transportation as a school bus driver while a resident in Shelby.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Murphy, of Bluffton, South Carolina; daughter, Shelia Wood (Tony) of Bluffton South Carolina; daughter, Donna Coggins (Tim) of Oakboro, North Carolina; son, Audie Murphy (Emily) of Bluffton South Carolina; and daughter, Tonya Beattie (Mark) of Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
