Cooler temperatures, more rain possible this week

Central Alabama will see some milder temperatures and possibly some more rain later this week, according to the most recent weather forecast from the National Weather Service Birmingham office at the Shelby County Airport.
The forecast calls for a cool start to the week, rising temperatures toward the end of the work week and then chilly temperatures again over the weekend.
Monday brought some welcome sunshine and a high of about 63 degrees after several days of heavy rainfall the previous week. Monday night will remain clear, and will see a low of about 40 degrees.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high of about 66 degrees, and rain will enter the forecast again on Tuesday night with a 50-percent chance of showers and a low of about 50 degrees.
Wednesday will see a 30-percent chance of rain with a high near 67 degrees, and Wednesday night will bring a 40-percent chance of showers and a low of about 53 degrees.
Thursday will see the highest chance of rain for the week with a 60-percent chance of precipitation and a high near 67 degrees during the day and a 50-percent chance of rain and a low of 54 degrees during the night.
Friday night will see a 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high of 69 degrees and a low of about 52 degrees.
Saturday will have a 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high of about 59 degrees, and Saturday night will clear up with a chilly low of about 34 degrees.
Sunday will see plenty of sunshine with a high of about 51 degrees.
