Robert Bernard “Bob” Dorsey, age 94, of Wilsonville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6.
The visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10-11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Steve Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Dorsey is survived by his wife of 75 years, Vesta J. Dorsey. He was loved by nieces and nephews and remembered by the many friends he had.
Mr. Dorsey was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. There, he owned a TV-radio repair and sale shop with his brother for years. He was a World War II veteran, serving our nation in the Army from 1942–1946. He retired and came down south to live with family members in Wilsonville.
Mr. Dorsey worked as a lunchroom manager for the Shelby County School System at the Columbiana Middle School and Wilsonville Elementary School until he retired again.
He loved to cook and serve up a good laugh or two. Bob never met a stranger. He was a servant in the Lord’s House everywhere he lived. He was last active and a member of Wilsonville Baptist Church. He will be missed by all who knew him.
