Chess Club for K-12 kicks off soon at Pelham library

PELHAM – The Pelham Public Library is gearing up to kick off its most popular among teenagers on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
Chess Club, for children and teens in Kindergarten through 12th grade, starts at 6 p.m. and will meet several times throughout the year. Teen Librarian Liz Winn said Chess Club is the most popular teen program the library has ever had. The club averages 10-20 kids per meeting.
“As a teen librarian, that’s a phenomenal number because we usually don’t get high turnouts in that age group,” Winn said.
Chess Club is a year-round activity. Parents do not need to sign their children up to participate.
The club meets on the following dates at 6 p.m.:
