PELHAM – A Texas Roadhouse fundraiser to generate money for service members and veterans has been extended until Dec. 31.
In October, the Pelham restaurant began a fundraiser in partnership with American Legion Matthew Blount Post 555 to collect donations that will be turned into gift cards for service members and veterans.
Residents can donate by going to Texas Roadhouse and letting a host or manager know that they’d like to donate. Those who donate $5 or more and get a free appetizer.
Store marketing manager Angela Knight said residents don’t have to be a restaurant customer to come in and donate.
The gift cards will be distributed in gift bags by Post 555 to veterans during Military Appreciation Night at an Alabama Hockey game in February 2019. The names of those who donate will by written on stickers and placed on a wall inside the restaurant.
Post 555 member Kenneth Paschal said the fundraiser is a way to continue to show support for veterans even after Veterans Day, which was Nov. 11.
