ALABASTER – No injuries were reported, but heavy damages resulted in a residential fire in northern Alabaster on the morning of Dec. 2.
The Alabaster Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on King Arthur Place at about 11:20 a.m., and arrived to find the blaze fully involved.
Alabaster Fire Chief Tim Love said the homeowners were not home when the fire started, and no firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, which was quickly contained after the AFD arrived.
However, the fire caused heavy damages to the home. As of Dec. 3, the cause of the fire was still being investigated by the AFD.
The past several weeks have brought a higher than normal number of residential fires for the department. On Nov. 30, a 51-year-old woman died in an early morning house fire on Nolen Lane, and a home received heavy damage in a Nov. 10 blaze off Hidden Brook Trail.
On the morning of Dec. 3, the department also responded to a vehicle fire near the intersection of U.S. 31 and Old Highway 31.
