Westover Christmas parade set for Dec. 8

WESTOVER – The annual Westover Christmas parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The parade will follow last year’s route, which was a change from previous years.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Shelby County 280 (Old Highway 280) and Shelby County 55, and proceed down Old 280 to Westover Town Hall.
Participants will line up along Shelby County 55 and are asked to enter from the Shelby County 51 end of the road.
Staging will begin at 8:30 a.m., and participants should be in place by 9:30 a.m.
Shelby County 55 southbound from Shelby County 51 to Old 280 will be closed to non-parade traffic.
There is no cost to participate in the parade. Floats and vehicles are welcome, as are walking groups.
Awards will be given for best parade entries.
Spectators are encouraged to park along Old 280 between Shelby County 55 and Town Hall.
At the conclusion of the parade, Westover City Park behind City Hall will host festivities including hot dogs and drinks, music and activities for children.
Santa Claus will be available for photos.
Free food will be sponsored by Publix and Royal Restorations and Entertainment.
Entry forms must be received by Dec. 2.
