Jefferson State’s Culinary Institute welcomes community to Holiday High Tea

HOOVER – Culinary apprentices at Jefferson State’s Culinary and Hospitality Institute will hold a Holiday High Tea and Silent Auction, along with Christmas Carols featuring the Jefferson State Singers, on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shelby-Hoover Campus.
“This festive event will definitely get you in the holiday spirit,” said Jefferson State’s Culinary Director Joseph Mitchell. “We invite our community to join us and enjoy delicious food, fellowship, and Christmas carols.”
Attendees will enjoy premium teas, coffee and hot chocolate.
The High Tea will feature a savory cup of chicken tomato orzo soup, followed by caprese quiche with mozzarella, tomatoes and arugula. Next, classic selections of freshly prepared cucumber, egg mayonnaise with cress, smoked salmon with cream cheese, ham and mustard, and coronation chicken finger sandwiches will also be served.
To close out the experience, a sweet treat of fresh warm scones with clotted cream and preserves will be served along with a variety of cakes and pastries.
To enhance the holiday festivities, the Jefferson State Singers will sing your favorite Christmas carols.
Tickets are $40 per person and should be purchased by Nov. 25.
All proceeds benefit educational endeavors of Jefferson State’s Culinary and Hospitality Institute American Culinary Federation Apprentices.
