Jessie James Salser, age 74, of Chelsea, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31 at home among family.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. at the Chelsea Church of God with Rev. Mike Kiker officiating.

Mr. Salser was devoted to God, his family and his church. He was a brick mason for over 50 years. He gave his heart to Jesus in 1995 and was a member of the Chelsea Church of God

Mr. Salser is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Essie Hannah Salser; brother, Boyd Salser; and sisters, Lillie Bearden and Doris Adaway.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claudette Dawson Salser; daughters, Janice Patterson (Jamie), Jenny Rich (Lavoy), Amy Salser, Jamie Epperson (Shane), all of Chelsea and Cindy Mathews (David) of Trussville; brothers, Donald Salser of Odenville and Paul Salser (Carol) of Ashville; sister, Ruth Salser of Chelsea; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
