Belinda McElrath Thrasher
Calera
Belinda McElrath Thrasher, 64, of Calera, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday evening, Oct. 14.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1954 in Gadsden.
Belinda was a loving mother to her only child, Leah Thrasher Keith. The bond and love they had for one another was unbreakable and fierce. She was an Aunt Bena to many, an amazing Nonnie to her three grand babies that she loved with all of her heart, a loving sister and a friend to all.
She was a lover of all animals and making people laugh. She never met a stranger and made people feel at home when they were in her presence. She would drop anything to help someone in need. She will be missed tremendously by all that knew and loved her.
Belinda is survived by her only daughter, Leah Keith (Bradley); Leah’s father, Tommy Thrasher; grandson, Eason Keith; granddaughters, Taylor Glenn and Charlea Keith, sister, Martha Hartselle; nephews, Buddy Hartselle, Larry Hartselle (Lynn), Jason Rother, Shane Deyoung (Elizabeth); nieces, Lynne Thomas (Keith), Begail Bryant; seven great nieces and five great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jewel McElrath; nephew, Mark Hartselle; and her sisters, Carol McElrath and Marjo Deyoung.
A casual gathering of close friends and family to celebrate her life will be held at Orr Park located in Montevallo on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3:30 p.m.
