HELENA – For the third time, a pair of neighbors will team up to bring thrills and frights to Helena’s Hillsboro neighborhood in the form of a haunted house.
The families of Vinny Ciccazzo and Austin Hood will help sponsor a haunted house at Sunbury Cemetery and after taking a year off, the neighbors intend to make it a must for families to get into the Halloween spirit.
“We took a year off last year,” Ciccazzo said. “So many people stopped by and asked, ‘Where’s the haunted cemetery?’ so this year Austin and I decided to go all out.”
The spooktacular Halloween event typically draws hundreds each year who come out to enjoy the family friendly Halloween fun.
This year, the event will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and both nights will feature something for the whole family.
Attractions such as talking pumpkins and haunted house rooms designed for any age will be on display. Some of the older kids can enjoy things such as the reaper, deadly doll, spider and serial killer rooms.
In addition, enchanted pumpkins will come alive each night and tell stories and sing spooky songs.
The haunted house is free and open to the public, but donations are appreciated.
“We want everyone to stop by and enjoy some spooky Halloween fun,” Ciccazzo said.
Directions to the haunted house are as follows:
Turn into the Hillsboro subdivision off Shelby County 52. Go to the stop sign. Go straight on Appleford Road until the next stop sign. Take a right onto Ashleigh Road. Go to the stop sign and take a left on Appleford Road. Take the first left onto Sunbury Terrace. Hillsboro is a sidewalk neighborhood with easy walking access from designated parking areas at the entrance, pool and vacant lots nearby.
