Taylor Hicks to perform at King’s Home

WILSONVILLE – American Idol winner Taylor Hicks is set to perform at King’s Home in Wilsonville to help raise money for the organization.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, King’s Home will host Evening in the Garden with Taylor Hicks to help raise money for their horticultural therapy and teaching program called King’s Garden. The concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. at King’s Home Wilsonville campus at 32 Kings Ranch Drive. King’s Garden is located on the campus along with five boy’s homes. Local artist Brendan Young is set to open for Hicks.
This program serves the youth of King’s Home and the Birmingham metro area. Proceeds from the event will help King’s Home expand the program.
Field-to-Fork Heavy Hors D’oeuvres will be crafted by Sean Butler, a two-time Iron City Chef winner who will be featured alongside beautiful floral designs showcasing the produce and cut flowers grown at King’s Garden. The event will be set up in a grass field overlooking the campus.
Attire is dressy casual for this open-air event and tickets are available online at Kingshome.com or by calling 775-1820 or 775-1804. Tickets are $125 per individual and $1,000 for a 10-person table. Sponsorship packages are also available.
King’s Home serves youth, women, mothers and children seeking refuge, hope and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness and other extreme and impoverished conditions. Operating 22 homes in four Alabama counties, 100 percent of King’s Home residents have been rendered homeless due to the devastating effects of abuse.
Along with the opportunity for spiritual development, King’s Home teaches necessary skills and provides tangible services to help residents heal and to break free of abuse.
