HELENA – Any individual wishing to join the Helena Police Explorers organization and learn more about the program will have an opportunity to do so at a First Nighter Open House.
The First Nighter Open House will be held on Monday, Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Helena Sports Complex where a variety of information will be shared for those unfamiliar with the organization.
The open house will provide information regarding membership, a demonstration, a meet and greet with current explorers and advisors and refreshments will be provided.
The Helena Police Explorers, which consists of young men and women between the ages of 14-21 interested in law enforcement, will get hands on training from law enforcement professionals and the chance to ride along with on duty Helena police officers. There will also be other opportunities to be involved with community service projects and fun post activities.
The mission of the Helena Police Explorers is to instill, using law enforcement as a medium, basic values such as honesty, integrity, team work and pride, in young men and women in the community.
