Prostitution sting results in 11 arrests

COLUMBIANA – Eleven men were arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution as the result of an undercover sting conducted by the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, according to a news release.

The reverse prostitution sting was titled “Operation Close Out” and carried out in North Shelby County along the U.S. 280 corridor, according to the release.

Those charged included:

  • Angelo Louis Petite, 47, of Pelham
  • David Robert Rodriguez, 24, of Birmingham
  • Donell Gomillion, 54, of Albertville
  • Edward Goss, 44, of Pinson
  • Kendrick Ball, 34, of Anniston
  • Lee Glenn, 52, of Leeds
  • Noah Brown, 39, of Vestavia Hills
  • Olbin Jimenez, 24 of Birmingham
  • Terry Lynn Scruggs, 30, of Anniston
  • Thomas Barton Banks, 40, of Birmingham
  • Tylor Martin Street, 31, of Birmingham

“This is expected to be the first of additional operations to follow,” the release read. “The motivation behind these efforts is to demonstrate a zero-tolerance for criminal solicitation and to aggressively attack the demand for these type enterprises, which is often rooted in human trafficking and drug trafficking.”
