Iver Gene Staton, age 87, of Calera, passed away Monday, Aug. 27.

The visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Calcis Missionary Baptist Church in Vincent. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 30 at the church with Bro. Jeff Gross and Bro. Johnny Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery in Jemison. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Staton is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Staton; children, Nettie Dunlap and Everett Staton; parents, James and Beulah White; grandson, Blaine Deshawn Briggs; and great grandson, Mitchell Gage Connell.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Mize, Rebecca Connell (Mitch), Jewel King (Michael), Issac Staton (Rhonda), Sharon Henderson (Michael), and Diane Brasher (Manenon); 39 grandchildren; and 50 great grandchildren.
