HOOVER – The Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce will once again tee off to benefit local students during the 23rd Annual Golf Classic on Monday, Aug. 27, at Riverchase Country Club.
Chamber Executive Director April Stone said that as of Aug. 17, all teams and sponsorships were full, though the organization is still in need of items to be included in a raffle—and donations are always welcome.
Anyone interested in helping with the raffle should contact Stone at 988-5672.
“We’ve just been overwhelmed with the response from our membership,” Stone said. “It’s going to be a great day of golf.”
Golfers will tee off at 8:30 a.m. and compete in a four-man scramble format.
A putting contest will be held from 7-8:30 a.m.
Registration prices ranged from $200 for an individual player to $650 for a foursome. Mulligans, raffle tickets and putting contest tickets were also sold.
Part of the proceeds from the event funds the Chamber’s annual scholarship program, which has issued more than $200,000 in scholarships since its inception.
Other features of the event, whose title sponsor is McLeod Software, include breakfast and lunch.
Riverchase Country Club is located at 2000 Club Road in Hoover.
