HOOVER – The city of Hoover is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of the Hoover Met Complex’s new turf Baseball and Softball fields, with a little “family fun.”
On Saturday, Aug. 11 from 5-9 p.m., the public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting for the facility as well as a multitude of free activities.
“The new fields will provide much needed field space for local use while increasing the total number of fields at the complex to allow for tournament play,” said Erin Colbaugh, the city’s events coordinator. Colbaugh added that the grand opening “will be fun night to gather with family and friends to see the next phase of the Hoover Met Complex construction project.”
The night will be geared toward the whole family Colbaugh said, ensuring a safe environment for little ones to enjoy.
Following the 5 p.m. ribbon cutting, guests can engage with inflatables, euro bungee, face painting, a DJ, a photo booth and more. Sports clinics will also be held for baseball, softball and flag football. Concessions will also be available.
