Betty L. McCormick, age 86, of Columbiana, passed away Sunday, June 3.

She will have her memorial placed in the McCormick family plot at Pinelawn Gardens Cemetery in Columbiana, placed by Bolton Funeral Home.

Betty had been a resident of Columbiana for 29 years. She was formerly employed by Mobile County serving in the Highway and County Commission Departments. She grew up in the Woodlawn area in Birmingham and was a member of Avondale Methodist Church. She became a member of Chickasaw Methodist Church after she and her family moved to Mobile in 1959.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Rena Byrum McCormick of Mobile; father, Joseph A. McCormick of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; and brother, Joseph Patrick McCormick, Sr. of Columbiana.

She is survived by her niece, Janice McCormick Falkner; four nephews, Jeff D. Falkner III (Donna), Jason Falkner (Candy) of Montevallo, Jon Falkner (Julie) of Vestavia, and Jody McCormick (Erin); great nephew, James David Falkner; and great nieces, Emma and Maddie Falkner.
