HELENA–The city of Helena’s annual “Clean Up and Clean Out Day” originally scheduled for Saturday, June 16, has been pushed back a week due to a large baseball tournament that will be taking place at the Helena Sports Complex on June 16.
Helena residents should mark their calendar for Saturday, June 23, as it will be an opportunity to dispose of large trash items free of charge.
On Saturday, June 23, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. the city of Helena and Santek will host the annual “Clean Up and Clean Out Day” at the lower area parking lot at the Helena Sports Complex.
The event is free and open to Helena residents only, as dumpsters will be provided by Santek. This year’s event has extended hours to allow more time for waste disposal.
On June 23, Helena residents will have the opportunity to dispose of items that will not go in the regular household garbage including large items like old mowers, old vacuum cleaners, old chairs and other large items.
The city urges residents to take advantage of the free opportunity to haul unwanted junk to the sports complex for disposal, as public works staff will be on site to direct and assist with the cleanup day.
Due to environmental regulations, no corrosives, batteries, tires or paints will be accepted. The city also insists the day is for residents only and contractors are not allowed.
