HOOVER – A Hoover man faces sexual abuse charges after allegedly subjecting two 14-year-old girls to sexual contact.
Donald Kirk Barnard, 58, who lists an address off Willow Crest Lane, has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse and two counts of enticing a child for immoral purposes.
Barnard was arrested on May 26 by Hoover police and was released the same day after posting bond of $42,000.
The incident occurred in August 2017, police allege.
The enticing charges are for the defendant’s attempt to “entice, allure, persuade or invite…or attempt to…a child to enter a vehicle, room or other place for the purpose of proposing the fondling or feeling of the sexual or genital parts of such child,” according to the arrest warrant.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for 8:30 a.m. on July 25 with District Court Judge Daniel A. Crowson Jr. presiding.
