Plantation Pipe Line 1952. The first major industry to come to Helena after the devastating 1933 tornado, Plantation Pipeline was a big boon to Helena. Construction on the initial facility began about 1939. Most of the employees lived in the town and were grateful for nearby jobs. In 1952, the company underwent a major expansion. Plantation is part of a network that transports petroleum from Louisiana to New Jersey.
