Helena History

Helena has had many disasters, mine explosions, floods, but none had the lasting effect as the May 5, 1933 tornado.
As some victims referred to it, the “Devil Winds” swept through Helena in the early morning hours destroying everything in its path.
At least 13 died and most of the town left homeless.
