Larry Keyes Strider, age 60, of Chelsea, passed away Monday, April 30, in his residence with his wife Connie by his side.
Larry was born on February 17th, 1958 to Dale Keyes Strider and Doris Gayle Strider. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dale Keyes Strider.
Mr. Strider has one older brother, Robert Keyes Strider, and two younger brothers, Scott Keyes Strider and Joseph Keyes Strider. He was raised with his brothers in Hartselle, Alabama where he attended Morgan County High School, graduating in the class of 1976. Larry attended Auburn University, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1981.
Larry married his beloved wife, Connie Melissa Moses Strider, on July 5, 1981 in Laurel, Mississippi. Among other places the couple lived happily in Tuscaloosa, for 10 years before moving to Chelsea in 2003, where he lived out the remainder of his days.
His personal hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf, collecting outdoor memorabilia and travelling.
Mr. Strider is survived by his two sons, David Keyes Strider (Anna Laura) and Thomas Keyes Strider (Allison). David and Thomas are eternally grateful to their Dad for being the father that every boy should have but few get to experience.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5. Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle.
Larry’s life has been an example of service and camaraderie to his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father and friend.
The Strider family extends its sincerest thanks to the outpouring of love and support from their friends and community.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
