Have you ever had an interest in painting but never the time or space to create? Have you ever wanted to create abstract pieces but don’t know where to begin?

Let artist and instructor Chris Cruz help you navigate the creative process in the Mixed Media Abstracts Workshop on March 10 at the Shelby County Arts Council.

Cruz has spent the last 30 years honing her creative skills. She got started when she decided to take a painting class at a local studio. She was hooked from that very first class.

Now, she teaches classes and workshops to help spread that joy to others. In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn how to create unique patterns and composition by using found objects, textured paints and a variety of papers.

The workshop costs $125 and all supplies are included. This is a great opportunity to get your friends together to create in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

The workshop will be held at the Shelby County Arts Council on Saturday, March 10 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Don’t forget to bring a lunch.
