CALERA – The Calera Police Department arrested 44-year-old William Jeffrey West around 8:15 a.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 22, in connection to the murder of his wife, Kathleen West.

The arrest comes more than a month after Kat West’s death.

The 42-year-old’s body was found at about 5 a.m. outside her home on 100 block of Greenwood Circle on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley said William Jeffrey West is being charged with murder and is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond.

A press conference is being held at the Calera Police Department at 11 a.m. to discuss the case.
