Timothy Carter
Columbiana

Timothy Carter, age 56, of Columbiana, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at Liberty Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2 at the church with Dr. Tim Cox officiating. Burial will be at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Tim was a relationship person and truly cared for and enjoyed people. He lived out his relationship with Jesus Christ and let that spill over into his love for his family. He still had friends from the time he went to school in Chelsea and at Jacksonville State.

During his 30 years in law enforcement, he developed other lifelong relationships. Most of that time was spent in Helena, where he had retired as Deputy Chief. He was currently employed as a courthouse deputy for Shelby County. He was also an active member of Chelsea Masonic Lodge #886 and Buck Creek Lodge #410. He was a District Lecturer District 22 Group 3 of Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Alabama. Some of his closest friendships were made in the Lodge and the Masonic Widows Sons Riding Association.

He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, woodworking, and beekeeping. He enjoyed sharing with people he met through these.

In groups of his closest friends, he planned activities and adventures that kept everyone close. He enriched all of our lives and he will be missed.

Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Betty Carter; and sister, Brenda Booth.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Carter; daughters, Shannon Carter Basini (Tommaso), Audrey Carter, and Kaci Carter; brother, Phil Carter (Tammy), nephew, Luke Carter; niece, Patricia Cochran; uncle, Phillip Hartsfield; aunt, Kathryn Hartsfield; and numerous other family and friends.
