George H. “Nick” Smith, age 84, of Chelsea, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24.

The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Columbiana City Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Smith served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force. During his 25 years of service, he lived with his family in Arizona, Texas, and Germany. After his retirement from the military, he co-owned a successful business until his retirement. He was a lifetime deacon at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana, where he and his wife also served in many other capacities. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, but we rest in knowing that Heaven received a precious angel.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his son, Gregg Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Smith; daughters, Susie Humphries (Randy) and Jan Falkner; three grandchildren, Peter Falkner (Marchelle), Kristen Falkner Leonard (Jeff), and Grant Falkner (Kalli); and six great grandchildren.
