ALABASTER – On Tuesday, Dec. 26, a new pharmacy in Alabaster officially opened its doors to the public.

According to owners Daniel and Kim Blair, the personalized service that Blair Pharmacy provides to each customer is what sets it apart. The Blairs said the pharmacy offers free pill planning for patients and free delivery.

“The main thing that we specialize in is teaching people how to take their medication correctly,” Daniel Blair said. “Only a couple of other pharmacies are able to package medication the way that we do.”

In the three weeks it has been open, the Blairs said business has been growing steadily.

“We have new people coming in every day,” Daniel Blair said.

“Everyone has made us feel so welcome,” Kim Blair added. “We’ve been well received by the community.”

Daniel Blair said he wanted to open his own business after working at an independent pharmacy in Birmingham. He credited Mills Pharmacy owner Robert Mills with helping them establish Blair Pharmacy. Daniel Blair said he is currently one of the only community pharmacists in Alabama that is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

Kim Blair said they picked the pharmacy’s location because of its close proximity to neighborhoods in Alabaster and Pelham.

“We spent about a year looking for the perfect place, and this is it,” Kim Blair said. “We’re family owned, and we specifically wanted to be in a community so we can provide our services easily.”

Blair Pharmacy is located at 81 Weatherly Club Drive. The pharmacy is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, 9 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays. For more information about Blair Pharmacy, visit Blair-pharmacy.com.
