William Basil Purner, age 84, of Birmingham, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 5.

The immediate family will be gathering for a private celebration of life in the home of his son, Jeff Purner, on the weekend of Friday, Jan. 12.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Jean Purner.
