Registration opens for Alabaster baseball, softball, soccer leagues

ALABASTER – Registration is now open for kids looking to take part in Alabaster’s spring sports leagues, and will be available through mid-January, according to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Online registration for city league baseball, softball and soccer opened on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and will end on Saturday, Jan. 13, while in-person registration will end on Friday, Jan. 12.
For all three sports, online registration will be available until 11 p.m. on Jan. 13.
In-person registration will be available on weekdays only through Jan. 12 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Alabaster Parks and Recreation office located at Veterans Park at 7305 Alabama 119. The office is in a modular building to the right after passing through the park’s main gate.
Information for each sport is as follows:
Baseball divisions are determined based on the player’s age as of April 30, 2018:
-T-Ball – age 4
-Rookie (coach pitch) – ages 5 and 6
-Farm (coach pitch) – ages 7 and 8
-Minor (player pitch) – ages 9 and 10
-Major (player pitch) – ages 11 and 12
-Metro (player pitch) – ages 13 and 14
Baseball fees are as follows:
-$165 for baseball – Rookie through Metro
-$90 for baseball – 4-Year-old T-ball
-Multi child discount: 10 percent after oldest child is paid in full
-Non-Resident fee: Additional 10% per child
-Parks and Rec accepts cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard and Discover, but not checks
-When paying with a debit/credit card Online or at the Parks and Rec office, there will be a 4.5 percent service fee assessed by Municipal Pay Services. The city of Alabaster receives no additional revenue from this fee.

The following are age requirements for the soccer league:
-All those born in 2004 thru 2012 qualify.
-Those born in 2013 must have been born before July 16.
-For those born in 2002 or 2003, please call the Parks and Rec office to be placed on a waiting list. If the department has enough players sign up to make a team, the players will be contacted to come in, register and pay.

-$90 for U6 and U8
-$110 for U9 and higher
