PELHAM – A new multi-purpose events venue is set to open in Pelham in January of 2018.

The Brick Yard, owned by Bryon Rickard, will be located at 3221 Shelby County 52 West. The facility will have an open floor plan and will be able to seat about 75 people and about 100 people standing.

The venue is ideal for small to medium sized gatherings, such as rehearsal dinners, receptions, birthday parties, baby showers, civic meetings, business lunches and weekend gatherings.

“I also own a catering business that will also be moving to Pelham soon and people ask me all the time if I know of a place where they can have their rehearsal dinner,” he said. “That’s really how this started. There aren’t really any options in this area so a lot of people who are getting married in Shelby County are going to Birmingham for their rehearsal dinner.”

In-house catering services will be available through Bryon Rickard Catering. Some time in 2018, Rickards’ catering business will move next door to The Brick Yard.

Rickard said there will be an open house in January for residents to view the space. He is also partnering with floral and lighting vendors to offer services to those who rent The Brick Yard, but clients won’t be required to utilize suggested vendors.

“The whole idea is to keep the business in Shelby County,” he said.
