Jane Ann (Janie) Schwartz passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Richard Schwartz; sons, Philip John, Anthony Paul, Patrick Aaron and Matthew Jordan; grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, Gavin, Greyson, Charli and Rian; and her great-grandson Adam.

Jane was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on Feb. 13, 1955. After meeting Brian, they began traveling the country until calling Helena home. She worked at and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Samford University. Jane was passionate about family; she was referred to as “Martha”. Her passion for cooking, decorating and adding just the right touch to any family gathering made all feel welcome.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Birmingham. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be Monday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.

In lieu of flowers, Janie requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
