Cyclist struck, killed on U.S. 280

HOOVER – A cyclist was struck and killed while crossing U.S. 280 on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
A gray 2014 Honda Civic was traveling east on U.S. 280 when it struck the cyclist, a 63-year-old male from Chelsea, according to information released by Hoover Police Department.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Civic was not injured in the incident, which occurred about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 280 and Hugh Daniel Drive.
Hoover Police traffic officers are investigating the wreck.
