ALABASTER – The Alabaster City Council will modify its regular meeting schedule for the month of December, as Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year.

Council members voted unanimously during their Nov. 27 meeting to change the schedule to accommodate the holiday.

The City Council typically meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at Alabaster City Hall.

In December, the council will meet on Monday, Dec. 11, and on Thursday, Dec. 28, before returning to its regular schedule in January.

The meetings will begin at 7 p.m. with pre-meeting work sessions beginning at 6 p.m.

All city offices will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and recycling and trash pickup service will run one day behind normal schedule those two weeks.
