Lois Lucille Reach Cooper, age 67, passed away Friday, Oct. 20 at her home in Columbiana.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the church with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Elliottsville Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Lois was born on March 4, 1950 to Samuel Archie and Faye Elder Reach of Alabaster. She attended Siluria Elementary School and was a 1968 graduate of Thompson High School, Alabaster.

She began her career at the University of Montevallo in July of 1983 and retired as the Executive Assistant to the President of the University after 33 years in September of 2015. Upon retirement, she was honored with the designation of the Executive Assistant to the President Emeritus.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her father, S. A. Reach; and sister, Joyce Smith (Bill).

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Cooper; daughter, Kristi Hyche (Steve); granddaughters, Samantha and Baileigh Hyche of Jemison; mother, Faye Elder Reach of Alabaster; brother, Charles Reach (Hazel) of Montevallo; sisters, Ann Prestridge (Walter) of Opelika and Linda Moore (Robert) of Alabaster.
