PELHAM – Oak Mountain Emporium, an antique mall located in Pelham, recently underwent a change of ownership in early September. New owner Amy Bell said she stepped in after the previous owner made the decision to close the store down.
“The previous owner almost had to close for medical reasons, so I bought the store from her,” Bell said.
Bell, who runs Oak Mountain Emporium alongside her aunt and business partner Marti Sather, said they decided to buy the store because of her experience as a customer in the past.
“We fell in love with the place,” Bell said. “We had both shopped here before and my aunt knew the previous owner.”
Currently, Bell said Oak Mountain offers a plethora of new and antique goods.
“We have antiques, refurbished furniture, a women’s boutique and quite a bit of jewelry,” Bell said. “We also sell milk paint.”
According to Bell, milk paint is all natural paint product that can cover almost every surface and gives furniture and other items a “unique, aged finish.”
Bell said she is happy to keep Oak Mountain Emporium open and looks forward to doing business in the community.
“We’re really excited,” Bell said. “We have a lot of really cool stuff from almost 30 different dealers, so we offer a wide variety.”
Oak Mountain Emporium is located on 2700 Pelham Parkway and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Saturday and open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. More information about Oak Mountain Emporium can be found online at Oakmountainemporiumal.com.
