Bertha L. Day, age 79, of Saginaw, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10 with her family by her side.

She was born Sept. 10, 1938, the daughter of the late Wiley Dixon Ray and Louise Franklin.

She was also predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Day; daughter, Belinda Day and brothers, Albert Ray and Norman Ray.

She is survived by nieces, Tracy Pickett, Laura Evans and Brittany Ray; nephew, Brandon Kennedy; sister-in-law, Betty Ray; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends 12-2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15 with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., both at Charter Funeral Home. A committal service will be at Nabors Cemetery following the services. Minister Ed Snow will officiate the services. “Bertha had a way of bringing out the best in everyone around her. She was one of a kind.”
