Carolyn Nix Grimes, 74, of Adger, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31.

She was a member of Rock Mt. Lake Church of God where she served as vice president of ladies ministry, Sunday school teacher, choir director and church secretary. Carolyn retired from Lee County Youth Development Center.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud MawMaw. Carolyn was a God fearing Christian and viewed by her family as a “Little Angel”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wilburn Nix, and her brother, Lake Harris.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Charles Grimes; her son, William Mack “Billy” Nix; her daughter, Rose Marie (Eugene) Vernon; seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and her brother, J.W. (Judy) Harris.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at Rock Mt. Lake Church of God with burial following at Adger Cemetery. Bro. Greg Traywick will be officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
