CHELSEA – The Chelsea Johnny Ray’s celebrated its new ownership on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 24 at a ribbon cutting that was sponsored by the Chelsea Business Alliance.
Jack and Michelle Donovan said they purchased the Chelsea Johnny Ray’s location from a friend, and are now the owners of the franchise rights to the restaurant.
“The opportunity presented itself and it was too good to pass up,” Michelle Donovan said.
“We were told by a friend that they were selling it,” Jack Donovan added. “We talked to them, and that was it.”
Jack Donovan said they spent about 90 days remodeling the interior of the building “to give it a new look on the inside.”
Michelle Donovan said they also added a few more items to the menu, currently have seven 55-inch TVs to allow guests to watch sports and added a bar area.
Jack and Michelle Donovan said they intend for the Chelsea Johnny Ray’s to serve as a local gathering place with a family atmosphere and intend to open more Johnny Ray’s locations in nearby areas.
