Leonard “Barry” Ewing, age 50, resident of Bon Secour, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Mr. Ewing retired from the University of Montevallo Police Department in January of 2015 after serving with honor for 20 plus years.

Mr. Ewing was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Leon Ewing.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Ewing; brother, Charles Ewing; nephew, Cody Ewing, all of Bon Secour; uncle, Mund Hanson (Michele) of Daphne; aunt, Mary Richerson (Gene) of Bon Secour; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at Oyster Bay Baptist Church, Gulf Shores. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Miller Memorial Cemetery, Gulf Shores.
