Terry W. Hammonds, 65, of Alabaster, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. Dr. Jim Audmuty, Brian Hammonds, and Kyle Studdard will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services.

Terry was of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a coal miner for 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh T. and Vergie Mae Hammonds; special nephew, Scott Hammonds; loving sister-in-law, Dian Boykin; and brother-in-law, Donnie Nelson.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elaine Hammonds; daughter, Beth Hammonds Hollis; sons, Hunter Hammonds (Marta) and Adam Hammonds; grandchildren, Daniel Brewer, Dylan Forshee, Karlie Forshee, and Macy Hammonds; brothers, Tommy Hammonds and Mike Hammonds (Pat); sister, Debbie Nelson, Phyllis Posey (Billy), and Amanda Ellison; mother-in-law, “Granny” Rush; sisters-in-law, Sammie Kay Lutz and Martha Bentley; brother-in-law, Mickey Johnson; and a host of loving nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hammonds, Kyle Studdard, Justin Lackey, Warren Williams, Daniel Brewer, and Dylan Forshee.
