ALABASTER – A new private counseling practice is opening its doors in Alabaster on Tuesday, Aug. 1. Warrior Wellness Group, LLC, owned by therapist Cherie Hickey, specializes in adolescent and family counseling.

Hickey said this is the first private practice she has opened. She has prior experience working as a therapist at Pesek Counseling Services in Helena for the past two years. Before that, she worked in public education.

According to Hickey, her counseling and education background make her well equipped to help adolescents who are facing issues and their families. Hickey said involving the families of adolescents in her practice often allows for greater success.

“We see what’s going on in the home. We want to help not only the individual, but the family as well,” Hickey said.

Hickey said she chose to open Warrior Wellness Group, LLC on the Main Street Medical Mile in Alabaster because it provides a convenient location for her clients.

“Alabaster is a growing city. It’s a central location for all of my clientele, so it’s a great location for us,” Hickey said.

Through Warrior Wellness, LLC, Hickey said she hopes to fill a large void for members of the Alabaster Community.

“There’s a lack of services, especially for clients with Medicaid. We’re one of the only practices that can see adolescents with Medicaid,” Hickey said.

Warrior Wellness Group, LLC is located at 122 First Street South and will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday each week.
