HELENA–There’s something unique about relaxing and enjoying a movie outside in the summertime as temperatures begin to cool down and the weather becomes pleasant as the sun goes down.
After the initial Movies in the Park was cancelled due to bad weather on June 2 and July 15, representatives with the Helena Business Association have decided to give families and friends another opportunity to see an outdoor movie on a big projector screen.
The fantasy-adventure Disney film “Moana” will be shown on Friday, July 28, around 8 p.m. or dusk at the Helena Amphitheater, and the HBA is inviting people to attend. The HBA is also in search of volunteers to help with set up, clean up and the concession stand.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring tailgate chairs and blankets to the Helena Amphitheater to enjoy the movie.
The showing is free and open to the public and moviegoers will have an opportunity to purchase popcorn and drinks from the concession stand as well.
In the past, movies were shown at the Helena Amphitheater nearly every Friday night in the months of June and July but this year only two movies will be shown.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to visit the Helena Amphitheater on two separate occasions for the Movies in the Park series– July 28 and Aug. 4.
The final movie of the season will be the 3D computer-animated musical comedy film “Sing” that will be shown on Friday, Aug. 4, around 8 p.m. or dusk.
