CHELSEA – The Alabama Department of Transportation is scheduled to close several lanes within Chelsea city limits to construct turn lanes at various times beginning Thursday, July 27.

According to a press release from ALDOT, segments of U.S. 280 westbound will be reduced to one lane, beginning at the entrance of Chelsea Park Drive and ending at the intersection of U.S. 280 and Shelby County 47.

The lanes will be closed at different times between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day. Construction is expected to end on Friday, July 28.

The press release stated that drivers can expect delays during the two areas and are urged to find alternate routes or adjust arrival or departure times.
