HELENA–A new consignment shop that will offer several clothing items and accessories will open its doors on Saturday, July 29 in Helena.
The Trading Boutique, LLC plans to buy and sell clothing items for babies, kids, boys, juniors, maternity, women’s and teenage boys clothing. They will also buy and sell shoes, jewelry, accessories and brand name handbags. A variety of vendors will also bring in new items to the store.
Co-owners Jennifer Schober and Traci Moore are both Helena residents and first met in 2014 when their daughters became friends on the Helena Middle School dance team. Schober said the idea to open a consignment store came when the two spoke on the telephone two months ago.
“We talked about it on the telephone,” Schober said. “I call her just about every day on my way to work and we talk and we came up with a consignment store idea. We didn’t want it to be a thrift store, we wanted it to be more boutique style.”
The store will be located at 4290 Shelby County 52, Suite D and the store is currently accepting clothing items and accessories in preparation for the grand opening on July 29.
The Trading Boutique is currently accepting back to school clothing, fall clothing, Halloween costumes, and homecoming dresses.
“We’re going to make it as easy as possible on our consignors,” Moore said. “There’s not a consignment shop in our area so we thought it would be something that would do well since there’s not one. We thought it was a way for people to make some money and also find items that were name brand at a discount.”
The store will be open Monday through Friday from 3-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those interested in consigning items may drop them off during business hours. The store is looking for name brand items and current fashion. Consignors have the option to pick-up items that aren’t accepted or donate them.
Moore is excited about opening the store in Helena because she understands that the majority of residents enjoy shopping local.
“I think Helena is big on shopping local and the best thing about Helena is the small town feel,” Moore said. “I think the teenage girls are going to love it and I think they’ll love coming here and shopping and finding the great brands that they love. I think the moms will love the prices too.”
A few of the name brands the store has already received include Under Armour, Nike, Buckle, Vera Bradley, American Eagle and more.
