The Shelby County Shindig is just a few days away. Gather the whole family together for this fun barbecue cook-off.

Barbecue teams from all over compete for prizes and bragging rights. Your $10 ticket includes barbecue samples from each team.

Kids 12 and under enter for free. Enjoy a local selection of food trucks and beverages while listening to some of the best blues around.

This year’s music lineup includes: Diedra The Alabama Blues Queen Duo, Sam Frazier Jr. with the Incredible SGB’s, Guitar Earl Williams and his famous Juke Band, and The Chris Simmons Band.

There will be a Shindig Kids Zone with inflatables and lots of fun for the family. Enjoy Shindig specials at Davis Drug and Bernie’s on Main.

Event gates open and music starts at 1 p.m., public barbecue tasting begins at 4 p.m., barbecue winners announced at 6:30 p.m. and the event ends at 7 p.m.
