CHELSEA – Chelsea-based organization Heavenly Smile, Inc. is hosting its annual Christmas in July Open House from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, at the Chelsea Centre located on 1800 Shelby County 39.
According to Heavenly Smile, Inc. volunteer Linda Brasher, the open house will kick off the organization’s 2017 Christmas Project, which aids families in need during the holiday season.
“We’re taking donations for families who wouldn’t be able to afford to have Christmas otherwise,” Brasher said.
For the Christmas Project, Brasher said Heavenly Smile, Inc. partners with individuals, schools, churches and the Shelby County Department of Human Resources to serve families in Chelsea, Columbiana, Harpersville, Vincent, Westover and Wilsonville.
Brasher said the open house will also help to make Heavenly Smile, Inc. more visible to the community.
“This lets people know what we are about,” Brasher said. “It’s amazing how we have been in the area for 15 years and we still meet people who don’t know about us.”
Those who attend the open house are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy as a donation. Brasher said Heavenly Smile, Inc. also accepts monetary donations.
Brasher said the 2017 Christmas Project and open house are just two of the many events and projects Heavenly Smile, Inc. heads for those in need.
“We are here to help people who have struggles, and we’re here to help families who are down and out,” Brasher said.
Heavenly Smile, Inc. also accepts applications from families who may require assistance throughout the year.”
