Tony Muse, age 63, of Wilsonville, passed on to be with his Heavenly Father while surrounded by family and friends in his Fourmile home on Tuesday, July 4.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 6 at Fourmile Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 7 at the church with Rev. Roger Chambers, Rev. Gary Jones, and Rev. Jonathan Muse officiating. Burial will follow at Fourmile Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Tony was born April 22, 1954 and was a lifetime resident of the Fourmile community. Tony loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Myra; daughter, Amy Seay (Daniel); son, Jonathan Muse (Traci); and grandchildren, Caroline, Annalise, Elizabeth, Emalia Seay, and Caleb Muse.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Jean Muse; sister, Judy Ingram; and daughter, Ashley.
Tony was a 1972 graduate of Shelby County High School. He was a member of Fourmile Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and spiritual leader. He retired from the Shelby County Highway Department in 2013 after working 40 years in various positions including heavy equipment operator and crew chief. He also raised cattle on his farm in Fourmile and was a member of the Shelby County Cattleman’s Association.
Tony worked on the development and building of the Fourmile Volunteer Fire Department and served as assistant fire chief during the early years of the department. He later served on the Fire Department Board.
Tony loved the Lord and touched the lives of many. He set the example to his friends, family, and community members as a man of principle, service, humility, grace, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion for others and faithfulness to the Lord, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
